I – Educational practices and learning processes in science, mathematics and technology education
This area of research aims to further investigate teaching and learning processes in the realm of science, mathematics and technology education, focusing in development, implementation and validation of educational products. The researches approach demands that are inherent to the different levels of teaching within the Brazilian educational context. Both the proposal and the development of educational practices, alongside reflections on them, will be supported theoretically, conceptually, methodologically, practically and pedagogically by scientific production from the educational field.
Researches in these areas focus on the following two main subjects:
· Teaching and learning: the research aims to develop systematic approaches in teaching and learning science, mathematics and technology, considering conceptual, pedagogical, cognitive and affective aspects. The research will analyze and evaluate certain situations of teaching and learning that focus on innovative didactic-pedagogical resources and perspectives.
· Technologies, resources and didactic materials: the research aims to promote the integration of new technologies and didactic-pedagogical resources in science, mathematics and technology education. It also seeks to investigate the impact of said integration on teaching and learning processes.

II – Teacher formation in Science, Mathematics And Technology Education
The investigations within this area of research are focused in forming the teachers for professional development in the field of Science, Mathematics and Technology Education. The investigations focus on demands that are inherent to the professional activity and that are concentrated in developing educational projects aligned with the purpose of the formation, be it on initial level or continuing.
In this area, investigations will focus on the following themes:
· Teaching knowledge and pedagogical practices: The research seeks to investigate the dynamics of the confrontation between teaching knowledge and pedagogical practices in order to improve both the initial and the continuing formation of teachers of science, mathematics and technology. The research also aims to study the role of the teacher in relation to development, application and evaluation of the use of didactic resources, aiming at rethinking and transforming the pedagogical practice.
· Legal requirements and didactic-pedagogical demands: The research seeks to investigate processes involved in professional teacher formation in Science, Mathematics and Technology Education, in both initial and continuing formation. The goal is to comprehend and to incorporate contemporary and innovative educational perspectives, as well as to incorporate and critically reflect on legal and theoretical-conceptual requirements that are inherent to the professional practice.
MACRO PROJECT OF RESEARCH AREA II: Professional teaching development in initial and continuing formation: teaching knowledge, pedagogical practices and social, legal and theoretical-conceptual demands.
III – Inclusive education in Science, Mathematics and Technology Education, and its educational demands in different contexts
Investigations in this area focus on inclusive education field researches through practices and formation processes dedicated to inclusion in the realm of education. Furthermore, this area gathers investigations related to specific demands of technical, cultural and scientific formation in non-formal educational spaces, including aspects of scientific presentation in Science, Mathematics and Technology Education. All the investigations linked to this area of research will have their conceptual and didactic-pedagogical basis, aiming at the development of educational products according to the program’s area of expertise.
· Inclusive education: The research investigates aspects directly related to educational and formation practices (initial or continuing) that aim to promote and analyze educational practices. These practices should acknowledge, value and promote didactic-pedagogical actions towards diversity, all based on the theory and scrutinized under the framework of inclusive education. The practices will focus on educational contexts specifically in the area of Science, Mathematics and Technology Education.
· Education in different contexts: The research aims to act through investigation and development of educational products that are able to contribute to overcoming problems and challenges. It also aims to improve actions of both education and scientific presentation in different spaces and with different teaching and learning approaches.
MACRO PROJECT OF RESEARCH AREA III: Design, implementation and evaluation of didactic-pedagogical material for environments of Inclusive Education and for Educational Demands in different contexts.
