The Graduate Program in Education, Master and Doctorate, is organized in three lines of research: “History and Historiography of Education”, “Education, Communication and Technology” and “Educational Policies, Teaching and Training”, around which the research projects, the offered subjects, the orientations and their other activities are structured. The three lines are configured as axes that articulate the investigative interests of the Program and, in their specificity, provide interdisciplinary work, allowing the contribution and competition of various views, theoretical-methodological approaches and epistemological traditions.
The Program expresses the institutional effort of a public university with a solid tradition of formation in the State of Santa Catarina, the commitment of its researchers, the accumulated experience and knowledge based on research in education, in order to understand the social and educational reality in a historial perspective. It is a matter of demarcating, by its quality, the educational and political role expected from public universities.
