Electro and Electronics Systems is the research area of the Doctorate and Master's programs at PPGEEL, and it is characterized by the activities of teaching, research, and development of electrical and electronic systems, with a multidisciplinary approach involving modeling, instrumentation, signal processing, applied electromagnetism, and energy control and processing.
This area has two lines of research:
Control and Instrumentation: This research covers teaching and research activities related to the design and implementation of systems that enable sensing, conditioning, signal processing and control systems, and electronic devices as well as the solution of problems to these activities. Among the themes developed in this line are modeling of processes and systems; digital signal processing; electronic instrumentation; design of electronic and optoelectronic systems for measuring electromagnetic magnitudes; control of dynamic systems; control of machines and electrical devices; study and development of advanced control techniques.
Electrical Energy Processing: This line of research involves teaching and research activities related to the development of devices and systems for the transformation and conditioning of electric energy. The themes developed in this line are: power electronics; design of static converters; electrical drive; energy quality; energy efficiency; alternative energy sources; electrical energy microgrids.
