Daniel Bettú (PhD in Geology - 2012 - UFPR)
Lindaura Steffens (PhD in Applied Mathematics - 2010 - UPC)
Both are Adjunct Professors at the University of the State of Santa Catarina (UDESC), in the Department of Petroleum Engineering. Prof. Bettú has extensive experience in applied geophysics, hydrogeology, remote sensing, geostatistics, petroleum geology, and geological modeling. His work focuses on reservoir characterization and geological modeling, with a special emphasis on stratigraphic forward modeling and reservoir modeling for flow simulation. Prof. Steffens has extensive experience in computational mechanics, mathematical modeling, numerical analysis, and simulation of physical phenomena. Her work focuses on numerical modeling and reservoir simulation, with a special emphasis on well testing and real-time simulation for engineering applications.
Ana Paula Soares (Geologist, UFPR 2001; PhD, UFRGS 2008) with experience in reservoir characterization, sedimentology, and stratigraphy modeling. Worked for 10 years at Petrobras and as a consultant at Karoon, focusing on reservoir geology. Completed postdoctoral research at UFPR, integrating geochemistry, hydrochemistry, and geophysics. Currently developing postdoctoral research in hydrothermal modeling at Observatório Nacional (ON) and work as a researcher at ICA-PUC/Rio, applying machine learning to geoscience problems. Collaborator Professor and researcher in the Department of Petroleum Engineering at UDESC.
Paulo César Soares (Geologist, UFRGS 1967; PhD, Univ Paulista1973) with experience in quantification and Regional Geology, Sedimentary basins, exp. mineral, water and oil using quantitative methods. He works on topics such as Pantanal, sedimentary basins, geoenvironmental changes, paleosurfaces, paleoclimates. He worked at Petrobras (1968-71), was a professor at UNESP (1972-80), freelance consultant (1980-85, 2000-), prof. UFPR (1985-2000) and visiting researcher at Northwestern University, under the guidance of Dr. Lawrence Sloss (1976-77), CNPq researcher (1978-1980 and 1988-2000) and Prof. senior - Post Professor UFPR (2000-2008).
Jessica de Souza Brugognolle (Petroleum Engineer, UDESC 2019; master's student in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Modeling and Numerical Simulation). Fluent English and knowledge of some software such as DionisosFlow from Beicip-Franlab, IMEX from CMG, Excel (VBA), MatLab, among others. Practice in programming languages such as Python and C++. Scientific initiation in calibrating forward reservoir models with well data.
João Vitor Lottin Boing (Petroleum Engineer, UDESC 2020; Master in Mechanical Engineering, UDESC 2022)
Diego Mayer (Food Engineer, UDESC 2013; Mathematics Licensure, UFSC 2023; MSc in Chemical Engineering, UFSC 2016; PhD in Food Engineering, UFSC 2020; Postdoctoral Research in Chemical Engineering, UFSC 2021) with expertise in computational methods applied to engineering. Currently a Collaborator Professor at the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC-CESFI) in Balneário Camboriú and a researcher in the computational division of the Forward research team.
Bruno Mateus Bazzo (Petroleum Engineer, UDESC 2025) actively participated in the SPE UDESC Student Chapter, occupying different positions, such as member of the Resources Committee, Secretary General of Executive Management and member of the Public Relations Committee. He also served as a scientific initiation fellow in the in the Forward I project. He was an intern in the Engineering Management of SCGÁS, in the Planning and Projects Coordination, and is currently an intern at CERTI Foundation, at the Metrology and Instrumentation Center (CMI), in the Intelligent Systems team to support Integrity Management.
Endriw Rafael Mateus Silva (Petroleum Engineering Student, UDESC). He participated in the Forward I project. He served as Vice-President of the SPE UDESC Student Chapter and was captain of the PetroBowl team, representing the university in national and international competitions. He is currently an Engineering and Research intern, working on an oil spill dispersion project. He has experience in leadership, research and academic activities related to the oil and gas sector.
Francisco Araújo da Silva (Petroleum Engineering Student, UDESC). Participated in the Forward I project. He was a graduate assistant for calculus I and III. He also served as officer of the SPE UDESC Student Chapter in the public relations committee. In 2023, he participated in the Engineering Simulation And Scientific (ESSS) challenge and in the XII Petroquest, in which his team was champion. He is currently an Engineering and Research intern, working on an oil spill dispersion project.
Akira Rhuda Oviar Yabushita (Petroleum Engineering Student, UDESC) served as a graduate assistant for Calculus I and Physics I. He joined the Forward Team as a Scientific Initiation Fellow in 2023.
Henrique dos Santos Marinho (Petroleum Engineering Student, UDESC). He is a Scientific initiation in the Calibration of Forward Models of Reservoirs project with data from Wells. He is currently an intern in Petrobras.
Thiago Martins Fernandes (Petroleum Engineering Student, UDESC). Currently, he is a Scientific Initiation Fellow in the Calibration Project of Forward Models of Reservoirs with Well Data (Forward 2), working on the research part focused on calibration.
Maria Beatriz Margutti Ferreira (Petroleum Engineering Student, UDESC) served as graduate assistant for the subjects Calculus I, Analytical Geometry and Linear Algebra. She joined the Forward group in August 2024, as a scientific initiation fellow in the area of computational implementations for automation and systems integration.
Paulo Vítor de Souza Navegante (Petroleum Engineering Student, UDESC) worked in the IT Coordination of the University and currently is a Scientific Initiation Fellow in the Calibration Project of Forward Models of Reservoirs with Well Data (Forward II).
Flávia Foletto de Oliveira (Petroleum Engineering Student, UDESC) served as graduate assistant for statics. Currently, she is a Scientific Initiation Fellow in the Calibration Project of Forward Models of Reservoirs with Well Data (Forward II), working on the research part focused on calibration.
Isaac Malaquias Miranda (Petroleum Engineering Student, UDESC). Currently, he is a Scientific Initiation Fellow in the Calibration Project of Forward Models of Reservoirs with Well Data (Forward 2), working on the research part focused on calibration.
