Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Graduate Program – BMBGP
Program Objectives:
- To provide knowledge in the fields of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, with rigorous training in basic experimental principles to qualify professionals for the study of any biological problem, preparing the students for performing research and higher education activities in the field, respecting the good scientific practices code;
- To incentivize research and increase the scientific productivity in the field of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology;
- To expand the number of professionals with modern, differentiated, and excellence qualification in the area, able to compete in the best national and international centers.
Courses:
MASTER´S PROGRAM IN BIOCHEMISTRY AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY (Beginning in January of 2014);
DOCTORATE PROGRAM IN BIOCHEMISTRY AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY (Beginning in January of 2014).
Concentration areas and research lines:
BIOCHEMISTRY AND MOLECULAR BIOLOGY (Lines: 1. Biochemistry in pathological states; 2. Biotechnology; 3. Functional genomics; 4. Cellular mediators).
Program Differentials (Strengths):
Solid formation in the basic and advanced aspects of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Training in advanced analyses techniques supported by the surveyed hypotheses.
Minimum formation and other requirements for ingress:
For the Master´s Program:
I. Registration form, completed, and three 3x4 photographs;
II. Copy of the undergraduate diploma or equivalent document, or any other that proves the candidate capable of concluding the program;
III. School records;
IV. “Curriculum Vitae”;
V. Proof of fulfilling military and electoral obligations, in case of Brazilian candidate;
VI. Proof of fulfilling the Federal Migration Service obligations and of financial support for the period of stay in the country, in case of foreign candidates;
VII. Other documents considered pertinent by the collegiates specified in the selection notice.
For the Doctorate Program:
I. Registration form, completed, and three 3x4 photographs;
II. Copy of the undergraduate diploma. In case the candidate in coursing the master´s program, present the documentation that proves the candidate is capable of concluding the Master´s Program before beginning the Doctorate Program;
III. School records;
IV. “Curriculum Vitae”;
V. Proof of fulfilling military and electoral obligations, in case of Brazilian candidate;
VI. Proof of fulfilling the Federal Migration Service obligations and of financial support for the period of stay in the country, in case of foreign candidates;
VII. Two presentation letter;
VIII. Copy of the diploma and Master´s thesis (or defense record), when applicable;
IX. Research project to be developed, according to the model provided by the program.
Form/period of ingress:
Annual selection process with exams usually in November. Rules and alterations are provided in the notice.
